Yin Yoga is a quiet, gentle practice that focuses on releasing the deeper connective layers of the body. By allowing the body to yield into yoga postures for a longer time this practice helps to improve mobility in joints and balance the energy in the body.
The yin style of yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular style of other yogas and physical or sport activities. Rather than focusing on only lengthening and contracting muscles, Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, facia and body meridians of the hips, shoulders, lower spine and pelvis. With regular practice the body develops a complete balance of ying and yang energies and a deep calmness throughout our whole being.
