Yin and Yoga Nidra

with Roxanne “Moksha” Sammartino

Yin Yoga is a quiet, gentle practice that focuses on releasing the deeper connective layers of the body. By allowing the body to yield into yoga postures for a longer time this practice helps to improve mobility in joints and balance the energy in the body. The yin style of yoga is a perfect complement to Yoga Nidra the guided sleep-based meditation rooted in the ancient teachings of Yoga.

Yoga Nidra is specifically designed to allow you to enter a sleep-like state that will take you into the deepest levels of relaxation while remaining consciously alert and awake. Yoga Nidra will balance the nervous system, enhance the healing process and boost the immune system. It is effective in helping people with stress, addictions, trauma, depression, anxiety, fear, anger, sleep disorders, nervous conditions and in releasing long-standing self limiting beliefs and patterns.

During Yoga Nidra we become submerged in receptive and eventually deeply meditative states of consciousness and brain wave states. In this state we become witness to the nature of our body, thoughts, emotions and beliefs. As the body rests in this receptive state, the body’s innate ability to induce healing, spontaneously and effortlessly occurs, leaving you feeling replenished and revitalized. You will become more relaxed, integrated, expansive and present.
