What if joy isn’t something we have to find, create, or wait for?
What if it is already here, a natural expression of being fully present and alive?
Nestled among the forests of British Columbia’s beautiful Sunshine Coast, The Embodiment of Joy is a five-day invitation to step away from everyday busyness and reconnect with what is already here.
For five days and four nights, surrounded by the old-growth trees of Linwood House in Roberts Creek, we’ll explore the fullness of being through Yoga Nidra, breathwork, self-inquiry, meditative yoga, dance, walking meditation, silence, expression, nourishing whole foods, nature, and play.
We’ll be still and move.
We’ll be silent, and we’ll express.
We’ll rest deeply, dance, laugh, breathe, play, and simply be.
Because remembering who we are doesn’t always have to be so serious.
Beneath all the doing, striving, and becoming is something that doesn’t need creating or achieving: the uncaused joy of simply being.
Together, in a community of like-minded people, we create a field of presence and connection where something deeper can unfold. The practices invite the nervous system to regulate and attention to turn toward what is present, allowing insight, clarity, and joy to be remembered. Joy embodies being present. We are the divine source through which life lives, as our own true nature.
Who you are is already here. Whole and complete as you are.
Come experience what happens when you give yourself the space to remember.

Our Home for the Retreat
Linwood Retreat Center | Upper Roberts Creek
Surrounded by old-growth trees and gardens, Linwood offers us a beautiful place to slow down, settle in, and simply be.
The land itself becomes part of our practice: the trees, the quiet, the changing light, the elements, and the natural rhythms happening all around us. We’ll gather beside the great stone fireplace, share nourishing meals, practice together, move, rest, laugh, and allow ourselves to experience what is already here.
For these few days, Linwood becomes our home, a place to be together, just as we are.
