What happens when the wisdom of Yoga and the precision of Pilates meet?

In this two-day workshop, we will explore the art and science of interconnected movement, discovering how Yoga and Pilates can complement one another to create greater awareness, stability, mobility and ease.

At the heart of our exploration is the breath and movement of the spine,  where the two fundamental expressions of movement, vitality, are connected.  We will investigate how the spine moves through flexion, extension, rotation, and lateral movement, and how breath can support, organize, and deepen these movements.

We will explore living in relationship to breath, gravity as a grounding force, and the energetics of the body’s fascial link system. Influencing the way we breathe, move, and experience ourselves in relationship with each other.

The Art & Science

Both Yoga and Pilates have a sound relationship with Breath. Yoga brings an ancient understanding of breath as vital life force, awareness, consciousness and embodied practice. Pilates brings an anatomical understanding of breath, structural alignment, core organization with control and precision.

Together, they offer an opportunity to explore movement as a whole-body experience where anatomy and awareness, strength and suppleness, stability and mobility, effort and ease can coexist.

This is a workshop for anyone curious about the intelligence of the body and the healing potential of embodied conscious movement.

You do not need to be a Yoga or Pilates teacher to attend. All interested are welcome.

Over the past 30 years, Hasu’s Dharma and Sadhana have been as intuitive and knowledgeable
Yogi,  Guiding through teaching, as a Spiritual Living Coach, and Community Business Owner
Sharing a flowing practice which creates self-alignment and attunement, based on teachings from
her own life experience, Amrit Yoga, Kripalu Yoga, and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. The
focus is on exploring sensation through movement and stillness, while drawing on the breath as a
tool for transformation, allowing you to explore your inner edges and thresholds with willful
practice and mindfulness; learning how to trust, accept, experience peace with ourselves and life,
by deepening the connection with the vital life force, and adding a sense of ease to one’s life.
From here, we learn how to carry what is experienced on the mat into daily interactions. Life
becomes a waking meditation.
