In this workshop, we will discuss and experience how the concept of Post-Traumatic Growth is supported by Yoga Therapy Philosophy and Practices. We will look at what the Yoga Sutra-s say about identifying the symptoms of trauma/duḥkha (Ch I,31) and pathways towards post-traumatic growth and transformation (Ch I 32-39 and Ch II, 16 & 46-48). Through discussion and practice, we’ll explore how Yoga Therapy practices can promote a regulated and flexible Autonomic Nervous System (ananta), gently inviting the release of past suffering (duḥkha) held in the body-mind continuum. Participants will engage in both grounding and stimulating movement, breathing, meditation, and sound practices within a container of choice, safety, and embodied awareness (interoception).
